News broke this week that #Reddit is discontinuing their blockchain-based community points after almost three and a half years of grappling with scalability issues. 😬

𝙁𝙐𝙉 𝙁𝘼𝘾𝙏: In 2015, I coined & trademarked “𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜,” which started as a centralized platform, similar to #Facebook, but innovated with “community reward points.”

Then, #CoinLinked was born two months after the COVID lockdown as a #decentralized “social #commerce” platform with ERC-20 tokens for community engagement rewards.

There were talks of Reddit possibly taking cues from #CoinLinked, as Reddit was in the #experimenting phase while the CoinLinked concept was already fully launched in May 2020.

CoinLinked was acquired in 2021.
